The story behind Triagely
Our Team
Dr Roland Ng
Co-founder, CEO
Dr Roland Ng is the founder of Triagely and a practicing clinician with a strong interest in clinical workflow design and patient safety.
-
Triagely was created in response to a growing challenge in primary care: rising patient demand, limited same-day capacity, and increasing administrative burden on frontline teams. Roland saw firsthand how valuable clinical time was being consumed by unstructured histories and manual triage processes — often under significant pressure.
Triagely was built to support, not replace, clinical judgement. By combining structured medical logic with carefully governed AI language interpretation, the platform helps practices prioritise patients safely and efficiently before clinical review.
Roland’s mission is simple: to use technology responsibly to strengthen primary care — reducing unnecessary workload, improving patient flow, and preserving the central role of clinicians in decision-making.
Dr Michael Haymes
Co-founder, COO
Dr Michael Haymes is the co‑founder and COO of Triagely. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience in primary care.
-
Dr Michael Haymes is the co‑founder and COO of Triagely, an advanced triage tool built by clinicians for clinicians to support busy general practice and urgent care clinics across New Zealand and Australia. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience in primary care across both rural and urban settings, he brings deep frontline insight into the realities of modern general practice. As co‑owner of a busy urban medical centre in Wellington serving 12,500 patients, and with his own full general practice, Michael understands first‑hand the clinical and financial resource constraints facing primary care.
A fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and a graduate of Otago Medical School, Michael combines clinical credibility with a strong drive for practical innovation. He is a constant advocate for rethinking how primary care works, collaborating with colleagues to solve problems that impact care quality, clinician workload, and practice sustainability. His experience working with high‑needs populations and patients with complex care requirements strongly informs Triagely’s design, ensuring it supports safe, efficient, and sustainable care delivery for primary care teams across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

As CTO, Aidan leads the design and development of the company’s AI systems, building the technology that powers its medical history–taking platform.
With a background spanning finance, entrepreneurship, and AI systems development, he began his career in data analytics and automation at BNP Paribas before transitioning into building AI-driven products and workflows.
Over time, he developed expertise in applying large language models to real-world operational problems, from executive job-matching systems to media generation pipelines and knowledge-graph tools that uncover customer pain points from social data. His interest in healthcare technology grew from both personal experience navigating medical care and a desire to reduce the strain on clinicians while ensuring patients feel heard and supported.
After meeting co-founder Roland and learning about the growing burden on general practitioners—particularly in complex frontline care environments such as New Zealand—he recognized that conversational AI could fundamentally improve how patient histories are gathered. He went on to architect and build the company’s system from the ground up, leading research and development on using large language models to collect accurate, structured clinical histories and help doctors focus more of their time on care rather than documentation.
